  1. We can tell the story of Howard Schultz and how he made starbucks what it is today. (He wasn’t the founder, but he turned Starbucks into the worldwide company is it now; he went to Italy and change how people viewed coffee.  People at the time drank instant espresso while people in Italy viewed coffee as something sacred with a sense of community). How he grew up poor, and under his leadership starbucks has been able to provide health benefits for part time workers, tuition assistance, veterans hiring, and stock purchasing programs.
  2. Howard Schultz’s inspirational leadership

    2. when the pursuit of profit became the reason starbucks was in business, stock and sales plummeted.
    3. Dad worked blue collar jobs and got injured with no workers comp or insurance. He wanted to build a company his father never had the chance to work for.
    4. In 2007, when sales plummeted he returned to starbucks as the CEO because of love and passion. He held a 4 day conference with the intent “inspire” and to challenge employees to be personally accountable for everything at their stores.
